Ganpati Bappa Morya, come early next year..., on Anant Chaturdashi, a wave of devotion and enthusiasm engulfed the streets of Mumbai. Despite heavy rain, hundreds of devotees joined the immersion procession with the slogan 'Ganpati Bappa Morya, come early next year'. With rangoli, flower shower and drums and cards, idols from many mandals including Lalbaug, Ganesh Gali were taken out for immersion.


On the auspicious occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, the sound of 'dhol-taash', colourful gulal and crowd of devotees on the streets of Mumbai on Saturday made the atmosphere devotional. Despite heavy rains, hundreds of people are participating in Ganesh Visarjan Yatra with great devotion and bidding farewell to beloved Bappa. Idols of famous Tejukayacha Raja, Ganesh Gali and many other mandals in Lalbaug area of Mumbai came out of pandals for immersion. Cheers of 'Ganpati Bappa Morya, come early next year' were echoing everywhere.


The whole city was colourful, a unique confluence of Rangoli and Pushpavarsha

The streets of Mumbai were decorated with Rangoli wherever the immersion processions were passing. Traditional Pushpavarsha (shower of flowers) was done near Shroff Building in Lalbaug. People were waiting to see Bappa by lining up on both sides of the road. However, the immersion procession of Mumbai's most famous Ganpati Lalbaugcha Raja had not started yet. According to the information received so far, the final preparations were going on and the idol will leave for Girgaon Chowpatty. Thousands of devotees gathered at Girgaon Chowpatty

Thousands of people were also present on the roads leading to Girgaon Chowpatty. Major Ganesh idols from Fort, Girgaon, Mazgaon, Byculla, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, Chembur and other areas reach here. Not only this, the excitement was clearly visible on the faces of the people while bidding farewell to Ganpati Bappa in entire Mumbai. The whole city was immersed in Ganesh devotion with the beats of drums and cards, dancing, singing and gulal.
